Happiness is what it is

I sat down to read a book the other day, and for those few moments I was happy.

I went outside to photograph whatever I could find, and for those few moments I was happy.

I made a Thanksgiving pecan pie for my family, and for those few moments I was happy.

I took my daughter to see a movie, and for those few moments I was happy.

Happiness
 can not be found
by dwelling on the could, the would, or the what if.

Happiness is fixating on the now,
 until it drowns out
the madness.
